August 02 Sendler' ListUsually, I don't do "cut and paste" articles here, but this story is so compelling and so well told I didnt think I could improve on it. It has been verified via Snopes. It is true.
Irena Sendler
There recently was a death of a 98 year-old lady named Irena. During WWII, Irena, got permission to work in the Warsaw Ghetto, as a Plumbing/Sewer specialist. She had an 'ulterior motive' ... She KNEW what the Nazi's plans were for the Jews, (being German.) Irena smuggled infants out in the bottom of the tool box she carried and she carried in the back of her truck a burlap sack, (for larger kids.) She also had a dog in the back that she trained to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her in and out of the ghetto. The soldiers of course wanted nothing to do with the dog and the barking covered the kids/infants noises. During her time of doing thi s, she managed to smuggle out and save 2500 kids/infants. She was caught, and the Nazi's broke both her legs, arms and beat he r severely. Irena kept a record of the names of all the kids she smuggled out and kept them in a glass jar, buried under a tree in her back yard. After the war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived it and reunited the family. Most of course had been gassed. Those kids she helped got placed into foster family homes or adopted.

GEJ July 20 What is the law? Homosexual marriage is the law!The following is a response I made to a letter to the editor on the Standard Examiner's website. The title is an allusion to the book "The Island of Dr Moreau".
In what civilization has there ever been homosexual marriage? None that I know of! This makes sense because states are in the habit of only protecting those things that enhance either its power or security. They're funny like that. This is why homosexual marriage has never been sanctioned by any state since the dawn of man. Because, unlike traditional marriage, it doesn't serve the "State".
Until today, that is.
Today, certain people of power within the state and federal govenments, very few of which are homosexuals, have found a use for homosexaul marriage. Nearly all Judeo Christian based religions have some prohibition against homosexuality. Make homosexual marriage "legal" (which means sanctioned by the state) and you make homosexuality legal. This, in turn makes any church or organization who opposes homosexuality illegal.
Is it just a coincidence that the same churches and organizations which oppose homosexuality are politically and philosophically different than those promote state sanctioning of homosexuality? Probably not.
Tom Jefferson and Jimmy Madison thought they plugged up this loophole, oh 200 or so years ago with what people today call the Establishment Clause. It was designed to basically keep the government out of the private affairs of the Churches.
Only in America, a nation of lawyers, could something be used for the exact opposite of what it was intended to be used for! Which, when you think about it is what homosexuality and homosexaul marriage are all about! Using something for a purpose for which it was never intended to be used for.
